13 in a row...Hoodoo or simply a number en route to History?

The Dragons are yet to face a true test in their second season. The latest victim, an undermanned (err...womaned) Illusions. Playing with only one girl in the side for almost all of the first half, the Illusions proved no real threat, as the Dragons went about their business, methodologically trouncing their opponents 43 - 23.

Establishing an early 23 - 9 first half lead on the back of 10 points from co-captain Top Cat, and some excellent driving lay-ups from DK Kang, the Dragons were all but home entering the second half.

Although buoyed by the addition of their second girl, and hence bringing them to full strength, the Illusions could not surpass the cohesion and pure scoring power exhibited by the Dragons. DK Kang continued her hot streak, and Hot Shot Hui found the bottom of the net on multiple occasions in the second half.

A few sloppy possessions by the Dragons late in the game gave the Illusions some scoring opportunities, however some excellent defending, particularly from Brooke Arrowsmith and Matty Hammer Saines, capped off by some excellent jump shooting on the offensive end quickly silenced any attempt at an improbable Illusions comeback.

Frank The Tank Tran made a welcome return to the lineup and troubled the scorers with some sweet shooting from the perimeter. He was also as pesky as ever in defense, constantly stealing the ball away from and troubling the Illusions' ball carriers.

Next game sees the Dragons against the Dick Whits (the name is an abbreviation for the Dick Whittington Tavern in St Kilda east) at 6:50pm.

They (the Dick Whits) currently sit second on the ladder and look to provide the Dragons with their greatest test for the season. Will the Dragons hold on and make it 14 in a row, or will the top of the table clash close the gap between the Dragons and the rest of the league?
