Dragons Eye Top 2 Finish

Solid offensive execution throughout the game allowed the Deloitte Dragons to tally their highest score of the season in an energizing performance last night against the Dukes.

In what was described as the "turning point" of the Dragons' season by Top Cat, the Dragons were on fire from tip off. Playing undermanned, and needing the Sterling services of AB Bonnici to come off the bench so DK and Top Cat could occasionally rest, the Dragons found range early amassing a massive 29 points in the first half alone, taking a comfortable 11 point lead into the half time break. First half highlights included many steals from Chin Pho Pho PO and some excellent jump shooting from Hadjitello. Top Cat's ability to find the open basket and run the lanes in transition was a constant match highlight for the Dragons.

The second half saw the eruption of the Phoa....landing multiple 3 point bombs and bedazzling his opponents with some superb handles. Matty The Rocket Fraser also troubled the scorers and commandeered his teammates in offense, controlling the perimiter with pinpoint passing. DK Kang was as quick as ever, often sneaking through the Dukes' defense and getting multiple open layups, despite carrying a corked thigh into the match.

The Dragons controlled the match from the outset, never leading by less than 10 points in the 2nd half, and ran out 45 - 33 winners, which saw them maintain 2nd spot in the standings.

The next month sees the Dragons play the top 4 teams in the competition (other than themselves obviously)...."We are out to get some revenge for earlier losses against these teams. We know what is expected and we are primed to deliver" - Matty the Rocket Fraser.

Stay tuned for upcoming match times and fixtures!
