Dragons Undefeated After 6 Rounds
Despite an untidy opening stanza, which saw them only put up 13 points, round 6 saw another victory go the way of the Deloitte Dragons - this time over the Dukes 31-15.
In a first period marred with mistakes, mainly stemming from the over eager boys on the team ending up in the key (a forbidden zone for men) by mistake on multiple occasions, the Dragons didn't look all that convincing. However a half time regroup and pep-talk from Hadjitello ensured the Dragons were raring to go in the 2nd half. The results were immediate, with the Dragons putting up 18 points and contributions coming from all members of the team. While Tiff Top Cat Cartwright top scored with 10 points, the contributions were evenly spread, with Matty the Rocket Fraser, Big Fella Boyd and Chowla Chow adding to the scoreboard tally. A fine rebounding performance from Brooke Steve Tyler Arrowsmith led to many fast breaks for the Dragons and multiple scoring opportunities for the Cougar Shankar and Ben Hot Shot Hui.
The Dragons, who are expecting the return of silky smooth captain DK, and rebounding ace AK Kojevnikov next week, look to improve their already formiddable unbeaten streak to 7 games, when they take on the 2nd placed, and also undefeated Trash Bags at 9:20, in what appears to be their toughest test yet.
Many thanks must also go out to our supporters, who take the time out to come and watch us play from week to week. We really appreciate the following and really hope you are enjoying the spectacle put on by your colleagues. We really encourage anyone who is interested to come along and support your Deloitte Dragons!
